Hi All. I'm looking for some advice. I'm starting to think about getting a new rod, and getting a custom one has started to peak my interest.

Having never owned or used one, I don't fully understand the benefits over say, a top of the line St. Croix / Loomis.

Cosmetic personalization aside, what are the benefits? In my research thus far, it appears a fair amount of custom rods are built from St. Croix / Loomis blanks anyway.

I know there HAS to be something I'm not getting. Any insight would be appreciated.

There are a TON of benefits. I can list a few, but your best bet is to contact Lonnie or Jason and go over what you want.

You can lengthen a rod, customize your handle to the shape you want. You can upgrade on your guides, which makes the rod lighter. You can take (if necessary) a little off the tip which makes a huge difference in a rod. There are many more.

What type of rod/fishing are you looking for??
